“Pastor Bonnie truly has the love of the Lord. She welcomes everyone. This was years ago, but I remember when she invited a homeless man to come stay in the church. As it was Winter, they couldn’t lock anything up. They just trusted the Lord. That moment spoke volumes to me and that’s when I knew that would be my forever home. I’ve seen her struggle and heartbroken. But instead of hiding away like some, she has let us see some of that pain and let us pray with her. And to me that takes a lot, especially as a pastor. There is something else recently. I could write a book. But really what it boils down to, is she has the love and the joy of the Lord. And it is completely genuine.”

It is such an honor to be invited back to help out on the weekends after a 27-year career at the station. I graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul with a degree in communications, then my wife, Nona, and I moved to Duluth from Fargo to start KDNW. We worked together for a few years at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, and in retirement, I’m enjoying wearing a tool belt at an insulation company and keeping up with 15 pre-teen grandchildren. On the weekends, you’ll find me on the air, in my fishing boat with a grandchild or friend, or heading to a nearby state park with my wife to camp or canoe. It’s great to hear from longtime friends, and if you would like to connect, send me an email!
