You don’t have to spend more than 5 minutes watching TV to discover that Christianity, people of faith, and traditional values are not things that Hollywood tends to embrace. In fact, it’s usually the opposite – Christians are often portrayed as bumbling bible-bangers, holier-than-thou hoity-toites, or hypocritical haters.
However, the last few years have yielded a sprinkling of kinder offerings, portrayed in such films as “Fireproof”, “Courageous”, and the Oscar nominated feature “The Blind Side”. Recently, another mainstream movie was added to their ranks. Grace Unplugged: the story of a Christian teenager whose dreams of musical super-stardom start to come true, but at a very dear price.
Actor James Denton talks a bit about his role as the father in the movie, and what it is like to be a Christian in Hollywood.
